With water and air temperatures starting to fall, fishing is starting to slow a little and so are people fishing. Current water temperature is 54 degrees, but don't let this fool you fish are still active and we are still having some good reports. We have had some good reports of Crappie being caught around the fishing docks. Minnows and jigs have been the hot item for Crappie, primarily around the fishing docks in 10'-15' of water. Not many reports of Saugeye or catfish, but if you are willing to put in a little extra time and effort and have access to a boat you will have more success.
We still have plenty of minnows so come in and get the last batch for the winter. Once we run out of our current stock we will resume selling minnows in the Spring. Be sure to send us your fishing photos so we can post them on our Facebook and "Fishing Friends" walls in the bait shops! Email them to [email protected] or post them to our Facebook at Lake McMurtry Friends!
