As a part of our mission to enrich quality of life we are hosting a group hike on behalf of the non profit organization "Hike For Mental Health ".  Our goal is help raise funds for their cause and spread positive awareness about mental health in our community. By participating in this event you can learn about the mental health benefits of hiking in nature.

Description: Organized hike lead by Lake McMurtry Staff to promote mental health awareness and the benefits of hiking in nature. We ask that each individual complete our registration form.

Time: 12:00pm - 3:00pm

Additional Information
  • 12:00pm - 12:30 check in and Safety / Education discussion. Hike will begin promptly at 12:30pm.
  • All event participants will receive a daily park pass for their vehicle once they have checked in, please check in at the East Pavilion located next to the Red Trail Head. 
  • We will be hiking approximately 3 miles with an estimated time of 2 hours to complete.
  • During the hike we will take several breaks to open up discussions about mental health disparities and how hiking in nature can be beneficial.
  • We will have two leaders, one in the front and one in the rear of the hiking group. They will be your contact person for any questions or concerns you have while hiking. 
  • We ask that pets be left at home for their own safety.
  • Please be prepared by wearing appropriate comfortable clothing & shoes.  Bringing water, snacks and other items necessary help you have a successful hike. 
  • We will do our best to accommodate all levels of hikers. The Red Trail is one of our easier hiking trails. You can expect minimal to moderate elevation changes and some uneven terrain.
