The 4th is just around the corner and fishing is picking up at McMurtry! The water is still about a foot below normal elevation, in the mid 70s and semi-clear. Channel catfish are good on live shad, worm and chicken liver at 6-12 ft. along docks and sandbar. White bass are good on crankbaits at 4-6 ft. along sandbar.
A couple was out on the East dock around 11:30 pm on June 30th and caught a 4 1/2 lb 24 in saugeye (seen below) and then the next cast, caught a 2 lb crappie! We love when the fishing is good!
