We are ringing in the new year with bitter cold temperatures. Last week the only fish that seemed to have an appetite were the crappie. Generally fishing from the docks with minnows/jigs is a sure bet. A local tip for catching crappie with jigs is to use "tube jigs" and put powerbait nibbles on the hook. Generally a slow hand is better for snagging these fish.
