Next class: Tuesday, September 10th at 6:30pm at the East Recreation Area Pavilion
Do you want to go overnight camping with your kids but don’t have an RV? Not sure how to go about making a fun and safe camping environment without breaking the bank? If so, this class is for you!
During this two-hour session, we will cover the basic equipment necessary to make a fun and safe tent campsite both at an established campground and in a more primitive site. We will stick with “heavy” or “car” camping rather than minimalist or backpacking style camping. We will cover setting up tents and tarps, styles of stove and easy foods to cook, staying clean and healthy, animal safety, keeping the family warm and comfortable, and how to handle the bathroom when there isn’t one.
What to Bring: all you will need for this class is something to drink (it is hot here at the lake) and a folding chair if you have one.
