ADVENTURE CAMP 2026

Register for Adventure Camp!

Adventure Camp at Lake McMurtry is designed to foster environmental stewardship among our youth.  At camp, we engage children by using outdoor fun to create pathways for lessons in environmental education, ecology, team building, and much more! All camp sessions are designed by professional educators and are perfect for the young and curious. Camp is entirely outdoors and creates the perfect environment for young explorers to engage in hands-on learning.

Campers will have weekly STEM lessons and learn outdoor skills such as fishing, kayaking, backpacking, etc., along with activities based on their weekly theme.

STEM in Nature

Exploration Through Art

Interested in science and nature? Campers who do will love this part of the curriculum as we learn about our environment and how much of a role science, technology, engineering, and math play through a variety of educational activities/resources.
Is your camper artistic and a fan of the great outdoors? Campers will get to explore their artistic abilities while doing projects outdoors related to Lake McMurtry and our local environment.

Additional Information

Each week, all campers will participate in the following activities:

CAMP VISION

Outdoor Adventure.
Active play in outdoor spaces provides rich opportunities for young people to develop social skills and gain an appreciation for nature.  Many life-changing experiences at summer camp come from trying new things, meeting new friends, and solving problems together.

STEM in Nature.
Nature explorations provide authentic and engaging experiences for learning about science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).  Lake McMurtry Natural Resource and Recreation Area provides an ideal landscape to learn about wildlife and aquatic conservation in Oklahoma.

Ethic of Care.
An ethic of care promotes respect for self, others, and the natural world and its inhabitants. Outdoor Adventure Camp is an inclusive community with counselors who model respect for people of various sizes, abilities, ethnicities, and ages.

Health and Safety
Spending time outdoors is good for physical and emotional health.  The safety of every camper is our priority.
